Did I Just Hear That?

The ice cream man sure has his strategy down. He just drove by and this is what I observed:

*Today is the first day of summer for the kids
*It is a picture perfect almost June day
*It was just about lunch time

and....

*the music playing was "Oh Come All Ye Faithful"

Sure enough, there were plenty of faithfuls flocking to the truck!

Too Busy To Brush

Like most families with school-age children, life this time of year has been busy! Field trips, baseball games, last minute school projects...we've had it all in the past couple of weeks. Apprarently, Ben has been too busy to brush his teeth.

He was at the dentist and told he had his 1st cavity.

Does this make me a bad mom?

Backyard Treasures

We had a beautiful Sunday and spent most of the day outside. The boys spotted a bird's nest in the upper corner of the underside of our deck, and we got to witness the mama bird flying out and returning to feed her babies. It was fun to see the beaks of the little babies popping up and waiting for the food to be dropped in.

We found a robin's egg near the trampoline. It actually kind of grosses me out to hold it, but Ben thought it was pretty cool.

We also found this beauty under the trampoline. This definititely grosses me out!

Kindergarten Program

Matt had his end of the year Kindergarten program, and it was wonderful! Brian took the day off, Grandma was here from SD, Nana and Papa came to watch, and Holly and her kids joined us, so Matt had an entire row of fans! He was beaming from ear to ear...and so were we!

Brian's Wild Idea

About this time each year, Brian and I are ready to be done with our jobs. The kids are squirrly, our motivation is just about tapped, and we're ready for summer vacation. Brian came home the other day and said that he and a colleague are seriously thinking about a career change. Moving out of special ed to general ed? Pursuing an administrative license? Switching from the high school to a middle school?

No.

Opening a franchise in our neighborhood.

A Jimmy John's franchise.

I love Jimmy John's, but don't quit your day job, honey!
