Luke-isms

Luke is such a verbal kid!  For the past several months I've jotted down funny sayings that he's had.  I want to remember these when he's older!

Mom, you're a dumpster.

First Week of School

2014-2015 brought some big changes for half of our family.  I returned to 4th grade full-time, Matt started middle school, and Luke switched from Kari's daycare to Stepping Stones.

The new changes themselves seemed to go very well.  Matt gave his first day of middle school a 10/10, Luke had 4 days of no crying at SS, and I am enjoying my class of 25 students and the continuity that working full-days in the classroom brings.

The stressful part of the week was Matt being sick on days 2 and 4 of school!  Thank goodness Nana and Holly were able to help us out.  Hopefully the stomach bug won't hit anyone else.

Matt to Middle School

It is so hard to believe Matt starts middle school in just a few days.  In the past couple of weeks he has had his orientation, learned how to work his locker and find his classes, ride the bus and participate in the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program.

The WEB program is a national program that uses older students to welcome and show younger students around.  Ben was an 8th grade WEB leader who led his group in community building games. Each WEB group had to have a theme, and Ben chose a swimming theme.  His group ran around with goggles on and the leaders were wearing inner-tubes.

Birgitta and Boys

My cousin, Birgitta, and her boys, James and Jack, came for their annual trip to MN.  We had a good time doing things we hadn't done with them before.  We went to the Stone Arch Bridge, the lock and dam, the Apple Valley Water Park, a middle school band concert and had lots of swimming and jumping time at home.

North Shore

On a whim we decided to go to the North Shore for a few days.  We stayed at Caribou Highlands, where we've stayed before.  We had perfect weather and it was a wonderful getaway for our family.
