It's May and it's crazy around here. Baseball has started for Ben and Adam and the weather is finally nice and we're playing outside too late on most nights.
The end of the school year is always a busy time, and to top it off, a school down the road from mine had their water main burst, causing the school to be closed for the remainder of the year. This was on Monday. On Thursday of this week, we are welcoming that school's 3rd and 4th graders (approximately 200 more students) into our building. Their teachers will be with them, so it's not like I'll have a class of 70 kids, but the staff at my building has been busy getting any available space in our building ready for these kids. It's crazy and insane, but neat to see how everyone is pulling together.
I'm glad I'm one of the teachers who gets to set up desks and hang welcome signs around the school, versus our colleagues at the other school who are having to pack up and salvage what they can and haul it to our building! It's a crazy way to end the year!
