Had to be There

Ben had his last music concert of elementary school last night. In the craziness of getting home from school, eating dinner and getting out the door, I didn't even take one picture. : (

The theme of the concert was Rock + Roll of the '50s and '60s. There was a lot of fun music from Elvis, Little Richard, the Beatles and others. The kids were dressed like '50s greasers and many of the girls were in poodle skirts, pony tails and scarves, and Ben's friend even got be dressed up as Elvis!

Speaking of Elvis, there was a cute part at the beginning of the program when anytime Elvis's name was mentioned, the girls would all scream with excitement. This happened a couple of times. After the second time, and when the audience was totally quiet and waiting for the next song, Luke let out a perfect "excited to see Elvis" scream. It was adorable and hilarious. Much of the audience heard it, laughed, and turned around to see my beet red face. Luke's timing couldn't have been better.

Ben had a great speaking part and was very animated while introducing Little Richard and singing " A wop bop a loo bop a wop bam boom!"

It was fun to be there with our whole family, Uncle Robert, Nana and Papa.

Great job, Ben (and Luke)!
